BJP, senior leader Rajnath Singh has said.
Talking to ET, Singh said that BJP fielded several parliamentarians for the assembly polls as the party felt that their candidature may prove crucial in winning elections. BJP has fielded around one-and-a-half dozen Lok Sabha MPs, including Union ministers, in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
Singh has been addressing several rallies in the last few days in Rajasthan.
It was during his tenure as BJP president that BJP won 160 seats in the 200-member Rajasthan assembly in the 2013 assembly polls, after Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi was made the party's chief campaigner.
BJP has «contested elections both by projecting and not naming anyone as chief ministerial candidate. Depending on the strategy for an assembly poll, BJP takes decisions in democratic way», Singh said.
BJP's two-time CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia was a respected leader who worked for the development of Rajasthan and there were no allegations against her, Singh claimed.
