BJP) has announced names of two candidates in its fourth list of candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections.
Notably, Swaroop Singh Khara and Ramniwas Meena have been allotted tickets for the Sheo seat and Todabhim constituency, respectively.
With this announcement, the BJP has now declared candidates for 184 out of the 200 seats in the Rajasthan Assembly. The state is scheduled to go to polls on November 25, and the results will be announced on December 3.
Ramniwas Meena's candidacy is making headlines as he joined the BJP on Thursday night and, astonishingly, was granted a ticket merely 10 hours after affiliating with the saffron party.
Swaroop Singh Khara, on the other hand, emerges as a fresh face in the political landscape, securing the BJP ticket for the Shiv constituency.
Previously, speculations swirled around Ravindra Singh Bhati as a potential contender for the Shiv constituency. However, the party opted for Khara as its official candidate.
In a surprising move, the BJP has opted not to field Yunus Khan, a former minister and a close confidant of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Khan, who previously represented Deedwana twice as an MLA, will not be contesting from that constituency this time. Additionally, the party has chosen not to field him in Tonk, where he ran against Congress leader Sachin Pilot in 2018.
The BJP's candidate for Deedwana will be Jitendra Singh Jodha, who previously contested in the 2018 Assembly elections but lost to Congress's Chetan Dudi.
In Tonk, the party has selected former MLA Ajit Singh Mehta as its candidate, pitting him against the incumbent MLA Sachin Pilot.
