Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar took disciplinary action against the MP on a complaint made by the BJP. Minutes before adjourning the House after the Budget session, Dhankhar announced that the suspension of Patil had been extended beyond that session.
This was after taking inputs from the privileges committee, which was investigating the matter, he had said. Now with the government and opposition engaging in dialogue to end a logjam in Parliament over a debate on Manipur, Patil's suspension has also come up for discussion, sources said.
