The entire nation will be joining in the celebration of the Ram temple consecration ceremony on January 22. To allow the people of Madhya Pradesh to actively participate in the festivities, all state government offices and institutes will remain closed until 2.30 pm on January 22, as mentioned in the notification.
Additionally, the central government has also declared a half-day holiday for all its employees on January 22.
Public sector banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, and regional rural banks (RRBs) across India will observe a half-day closure in honor of the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, as per an order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) for central government establishments. Private sector banks, however, have not announced any holiday on January 22, and customers are advised to check with local branches for updates.
The order specifies, «The Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated on 22nd January 2024 across India.
To enable employees to participate in the celebrations, it has been decided that all central government offices, central institutions, and central industrial establishments throughout India will be closed for half day until 1430 hours on 22nd January 2024.»
The 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony for the new idol of Ram Lalla is scheduled for Monday, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Symbolic rituals with a silver idol, including a palaki procession around the temple complex, are ongoing until January 21.
