Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren on Friday finally joined the BJP ahead of the upcoming polls in the state.
He joined the BJP during a public meeting in Ranchi in the presence of national and state BJP leaders. Union minister and BJP's state election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP Jharkhand in-charge Laxmikant Bajpai, state president Babulal Marandi were present during the public meeting-cum-joining programme of Champai Soren.
Soren expressed his gratitude for the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah and said that he will continue his fight for the tribal pride and will work for a better Jharkhand in BJP.
«I have got a bigger partner now. As I have worked for Jharkhand in the past, I will continue to do so under the banner of the BJP. My fight will be for the protection and pride of the tribal people of the state, who are losing their essence and existence,» Soren told media persons in Ranchi.
«Champai Soren will be an asset for the BJP and will work for the mission to protect Jharkhand from the family who humiliates not only Champai Soren but the entire Jharkhand. His joining BJP will prove to be a turning point for the state,» Chouhan told media persons in Ranchi.
Along with Champai Soren, his son Babulal Soren also joined the BJP.
