Ration scam: TMC supporters attacks ED officials, vandalizes ED and CISF vehicles in Sandeshkhali during probe
Vehicles of the central agencies and CISF were vandalized and windscreens broken, sources said. The ED officials were at the spot in connection with the ongoing probe of the alleged PDS scam. The media and camera persons were also attacked and injured.
Reacting sharply, Union Minister for Home Affairs (MoS) Nishith Pramanik said, «This incident is very unfortunate… The central government has taken it very seriously… When some central agency is in a state, it is the responsibility of the state government to provide them security and safety.
I express my empathy with those who were attacked today. Similar incidents have happened earlier as well.»
Adhikari has condemned the incident and demanded immediate action by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Governor C V Ananda Bose. Adhikari took to his Handle and said, «Horrific.
The Law & Order Situation in West Bengal is in shambles. ED Officials & CRPF Jawans brutally attacked in Sandeshkhali; North 24 Parganas district, while conducting a Raid at TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan's house. I doubt that Rohingyas are present amongst the Anti National attackers.
I urge Hon'ble Union Home Minister; Shri @AmitShah Ji, @HMOIndia, @BengalGovernor, @dir_ed, Director @crpfindia to take cognizance of this grave situation and take appropriate action to crush this anarchy.» He also demanded a probe by NIA into the matter.
Situation turned so tense that some ED officials fled in an auto after the attack. The followers of Trinamool leader Sheikh Shahjahan attacked the ED officials this morning, when they reached his house of Sheikh and CISF cordoned off the house. Following no response from the Trinamool leader, ED officials tried to break the lock at the gate when the mob attacked them,
