United National Liberation Front (UNLF), Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh said that he is ready to work as the facilitator for any outfit desiring to enter the peace process and ground rules with UNLF will be finalised by government of India, UNLF involving state government.
Biren on Saturday said, “If there is beginning there must be an end, if there is conflict there must be a solution be it politically or something.”
He said that ground rules will be finalised by the government of India, UNLF involving the state government. “Weapons will be kept in lock and key will be part of ground rules.
Peace accord is the biggest achievement in the last 60 to 70 years, UNLF is a 60-year-old organisation.”
UNLF has stated it is not going to lay down arms. General Secretary of UNLF Chabungbam Thanil said, “Amicable solution we want.
The Indian government has realised our fight for freedom. We are doing this to restore the sovereignty of Manipur.”
He said that 1500 cadres have joined the peace process.
“ The present crisis of Manipur is a small matter, some people from outside are disturbing us. “
The signing of peace agreement on November 29, 2023 has been made possible with the support, cooperation and encouragement of the people of Manipur, Singh said on Saturday at Kangla, Imphal, during the reception ceremony of United National Liberation Front pursuant to signing of Peace Agreement with the Government of India and Government of Manipur.
Addressing the reception ceremony which was also attended by family members of the UNLF cadres, the Chief Minister said that human lives are very precious and we have lost many lives.
