Renault, the vehicle is built on the innovative CMF-B modular platform. There are also expectations of the Duster SUV making a return to the Indian market, although it might be a couple of years before it becomes available to Indian consumers, as per a report by HT Auto. As per media reports, Renault will provide a choice of three different engines.
Among these, the most potent option for the Duster SUV is the 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine, capable of producing an impressive 167.6 bhp of power. In addition to the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, Renault is expected to provide two other engine choices for the Duster SUV. One of these options is a 1.0-litre petrol engine, capable of delivering 109 bhp of power.
There might also be a 1.2-litre petrol hybrid engine in the lineup, offering a power range between 118 bhp and 138 bhp. Before its discontinuation in the Indian market, Renault had offered the Duster SUV with two distinct powertrain options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 1.3-litre turbo petrol unit. The former engine generated 105 bhp and 142 Nm of torque, while the latter boasted a more impressive output of 154 bhp and 254 Nm of peak torque.
The transmission choices included a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, and a CVT unit. The new Duster is set to debut in the South American market, Australia, and New Zealand under the Renault brand, with the expected launch being the initial phase. In Europe, it is anticipated that the vehicle will be introduced under the Dacia branding, with an expected release in early next year.
