RWA), Haryana Agriculture Minister JP Dalal said during the district grievance committee meeting in Gurugram on Tuesday. As per a ToI report, addressing complaints from a residential society in Sector 82A in Gurugram, the minister directed the district registrar firms and societies to promptly conduct elections within the society. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to ensure that all residents are made members of the RWA without any discrimination.
The meeting, chaired by Dalal, discussed approximately 15 issues, resolving 10 of them on the spot. For the remaining five cases, officials were instructed to submit reports for the next meeting. The grievance filed by the residents of DLF Primus in Sector 82A was related to the delay in conducting RWA elections and the unfair denial of membership to certain residents.
In response, the minister firmly directed the district registrar firms and societies to facilitate early elections within the residential society to form a new RWA. He asserted that no eligible resident should be deprived of their rightful membership in the RWA. The district registrar firms and societies were given clear instructions to adhere to this directive.
The denial of RWA memberships to residents and the delay in RWA elections have been common problems faced by residents of residential societies in Gurgaon. Some RWAs tend to deny memberships to those who don't align with their interests and also prolong elections to maintain their positions of power. Even after elections, rival factions often resort to filing petitions with registrars and courts to obstruct the process and retain control, as claimed by the residents.
