Rhea Chakraborty is embarking on a new chapter in her life, moving away from the film industry and focusing on motivational speaking as her primary source of income. In a recent podcast debut titled «Chapter 2,» Chakraborty reflects on her journey since the death of her former boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and the subsequent public and media scrutiny she endured.
Chakraborty's podcast, launched this past Saturday, features a candid conversation with actor Sushmita Sen. During the episode, Chakraborty addressed the confusion surrounding her career. «People are confused about what I do for a living anymore,» she stated. «I am not acting in films; I engage in motivational speaking, and that’s how I earn my money.»
This shift in focus comes after a period marked by intense media coverage and personal challenges. Following Rajput’s death in June 2020, Chakraborty faced severe backlash, including arrest in September 2020 on charges related to drug procurement. She was granted bail in October of the same year.
The name «Chapter 2» for Chakraborty's podcast symbolizes her fresh start. She explained, “Everybody knows my ‘chapter one,’ or assumes that they know it. I went through many phases of feeling different emotions, being different versions of myself. Finally, I am feeling more me, but a newer version, like a rebirth. I want to celebrate that with anyone who has a ‘chapter two.’ It is okay to start again and move on in life.”
