At the Qinhu Bay Forest Animal Kingdom zoo in Taizhou, a Chow Chow puppy with black and orange stripes is seen playing and running around in its enclosure in a video posted on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, as quoted in a report by The Daily Mail.
Social media users, however, were not duped and soon realized that the animal on camera was not a big cat. On social media, someone wrote, «Isn't that just a dog?» 'They definitely don't dare to bathe their dogs for fear of discolouration,' said another.
The Qinhu Bay Forest Animal Kingdom acknowledged that the animal was a native «Chow Chow dyed into a 'tiger dog', not a tiger,» after being contacted by the local media.
Two Chinese native dogs, who are typically white, were depicted in separate photos wearing the animal print.
