life is getting over, I am old....' Ageing is not something that is specific to certain people; it come to everyone without discrimination. Ageing is a natural biological process that all life forms experience; therefore, make the best use of the present moment.
When a year ends, and a new year begins, there is renewed hope and we plan out things we wish to do and see, or think of the many ways we can find time to rest and relax rather than run around and tire ourselves.
Since impermanence is the very nature of life and uncertainty is a given, why stress over what might go wrong? There is the possibility that so many things may go right.
Certainly, as one ages, one becomes more conscious of the shortage of time and energy; what really matters is how we make use of the time that is yet available to us and find ways to build up and conserve energy rather than lament the lack of it. Recklessness and haste are the hallmarks of youth; as adults, we may regret things we did or did not do while we were young.
As elders, we may look back at our middle years and wish we had planned for our senior years more prudently.
Instead of dwelling on the past, grab the present and live life joyfully, with whatever resources one has access to. The mind can still be youthful and enthusiastic, even if the body ages.
