The Senate Finance Committee is tasked with advancing his nomination to the full Senate, and on Thursday, Kennedy is expected to appear before another Senate panel that oversees health, Reuters reported.
This hearing was the first public opportunity for senators to probe whether Kennedy can effectively lead the federal health department, which oversees 80,000 employees and 13 supporting agencies.
