West re-joined Invesco in 2014 after leaving in 2003.
He will manage the fund alongside existing fund manager Jonathan Brown.

West first joined the company in 1995, spending eight years as a smaller companies fund manager. He then left in 2003 to join Oriel Securities, where he served as a small companies analyst, after which he moved to Aviva Investors in 2004, before returning to Invesco as a fund manager in 2014.
A spokesperson for Invesco said: «Invesco confirms that Robin West joined Jonathan Brown as co-manager on the Invesco UK Smaller Companies fund on 30 June 2023. He has worked alongside Jonathan on the UK Smaller Companies strategy since 2014 and is co-manager on the Invesco Perpetual UK Smaller Companies investment trust, working alongside Jonathan since 2015. His appointment to join Jonathan on the fund is formal recognition of the important role that Robin plays on the fund as well as the trust.»
According to data from Morningstar Direct, the fund holds £492m in assets under management, as of 31 August 2023.
The fund has mostly outperformed its IA UK Smaller Companies sector over the last two years, according to its factsheet.
