Commercial law firm Maddocks has swooped on one of Victoria’s top public sector solicitors.
Victorian Government solicitor Alanna Mitchell is set to join the commercial law firm.
Street Talk understands the firm has appointed Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office executive Alanna Mitchell as a partner in its commercial practice.
The assistant Victorian government solicitor leads the inquiries, prosecutions and administrative law branch, specialising in royal commissions and major litigation. She acted as lead solicitor for the state’s response to the royal commissions into aged care quality and safety, the Victorian’s mental health system, national natural disasters and the Yoorrook justice commission.
Prior, Mitchell worked as the deputy general counsel at the Department of Treasury and Finance’s office, overseeing the development of legislation relating to multi-billion dollar infrastructure, energy, environment and financing projects,
Her appointment coincides with Maddocks being appointed to Victoria’s State Government panel across ten areas of law.
The firm was last spotted around the Real Pet Food $243 million capital raise. It also advised road safety technology outfit Acusensus and US drone technology company Nightingale Intelligent Systems on their initial public offerings.
