Crude oil prices rose to a fresh three-month high on signs of tightening global supply and rising demand through the rest of this year. Brent crude futures gained 0.67% to $85.56 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 0.29% to $81.56.
On the domestic front, the Indian benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty were trading flat in the pre-opening session. On Monday, the Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) net sold Indian shares worth ₹701.17 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) net bought shares to the tune of ₹2,488.07 crore, as per provisional data available on the exchanges.
