Nasdaq and the S&P 500 slipped at the open on Friday, with focus on business survey data for more clues on the health of the world's largest economy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 73.75 points, or 0.19%, at the open to 39,208.51.

The S&P 500 opened lower by 6.40 points, or 0.12%, at 5,466.77, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 40.58 points, or 0.23%, to 17,681.01 at the opening bell.
