Although she is one of the busiest actresses active today, with her hands full of exciting projects across various entertainment industries, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has reportedly decided to go on a temporary hiatus and focus on her health after wrapping up current projects. According to an ETimes report, the ‘Yashoda’ actress will take a break after finishing two ongoing projects — ‘Citadel’ and ‘Kushi’. ‘Citadel’ is a remake of the American espionage TV thriller starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra.
The series premiered on Amazon Prime Video on April 28. The Hindi remake will star Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan opposite Prabhu. This will also mark Dhawan’s debut on OTT.
‘Kushi’ is a light-hearted romantic comedy that will feature Prabu opposite Vijay Deverakonda. After ‘Kushi’ shooting is wrapped up, she will take a year-long break to focus on her health problems. In 2022, the actress revealed that she suffered from an autoimmune condition called myositis.
Prabhu will be leaving for the US for treatment in August. She may visit South Korea as well. A source close to the actress told the Hindustan Times, “The break will be for at least a year.
She is dealing with an autoimmune disease, which is not simple. There are long treatment and therapy sessions on the card. She will go to the US for the treatment and is expected to visit South Korea as well for treatment purposes.
She wants to get better in a more holistic way. When I spoke to her about her decision, she confessed that she is looking forward to the break” the source told the entertainment portal. On July 6, a leaked video from the sets of ‘Kushi’ went viral on Twitter.
