abduction of two teenage youths, security forces have arrested two people in Manipur. The abduction has fuelled fresh tension in restive Manipur.
Two suspects, Lhunkhosei Chongloi and Satgohgin Hangsinh were apprehended following an intensive investigation by the authorities.
Police suspect them to be cadres of the militant outfit under Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement with the government, Kuki Revolutionary Army, United faction or KRA (U).
Meanwhile the information & Publicity Secretary of KRA (U) had issued a press statement saying the outfit had no hand in the abduction/disappearance of the two Meitei students.
Lhunkhosei Chongloi and Satgohgin Hangsinh were brought before a Magistrate and subsequently remanded into police custody for 11 days.
The police department has reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice prevails in this matter.

S. Rajen Singh, MLA, Lamsang and missing youths' families met with Governor Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey.
They discussed the youths' disappearance, submitted a memorandum, and spoke to DGP Rajiv Singh for a combined search operation by security forces.
The Governor expressed concern and pledged support in finding the missing boys, urging the parents to stay hopeful.
