Want to take exposure to a sector which grows much faster than GDP
The BSE Sensex was trading 329 points or 0.47% lower at 70,041. Nifty50 was trading at 21,151, down 87 points or 0.41% at around 9.21 am.
From the Sensex pack, Axis Bank was the top loser, falling over 4% in early trade. Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, and Maruti also opened with cuts, while Infosys, HCL Tech, ABI, and Tech Mahindra opened with gains.
Zee Entertainment shares opened nearly 8% higher after the stock tumbled 33% in the previous session amid heightened pessimism around the termination of the merger deal with Sony and the likely subsequent legal and regulatory implications.
AU Small Finance Bank also opened 2% higher after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved the merger of Fincare Small Finance Bank with the Bank.
