Sensex falls 250 points tracking hawkish Fed stance; Nifty below 19,600

The BSE Sensex was trading 241 points or 0.31% lower at 65,427.
Nifty50 was trading at 19,562, down 62 points or 0.32% at around 9.19 am.
Fed Chair Jerome Powell acknowledged recent signs of cooling inflation but said on Thursday that the central bank would be 'resolute' in its commitment to its 2% mandate.
From the Sensex pack, HUL, ITC, Power Grid, Bajaj Finserv, and Bajaj Finance opened in the red, while Tata Motors, UltraTech Cement, Nestle and IndusInd Bank opened in the green.
Zomato shares opened 2.4% higher after a block deal worth Rs 1,040.50 crore involving a 1.1% stake in a food aggregator took place on the exchanges.
Tata Communications shares declined 3% in early trade after its Q2 net profit plunged 58% YoY to Rs 221 crore.
