stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the green amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Gulshan Polyols(19.98%), Teesta Agro Industries Ltd.(19.97%), Sindhu Trade(16.08%) and SaskenTech(15.85%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 740.76 points up at 77500.57, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 258.91 points up at 23508.4.
In the Nifty50 index, 43 stocks closed in the green, while 7 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Tanfac Ind, Blue Jet Healthcare, UPL, Navin Fluorine and MPS Ltd hit their fresh 52-week high, while De Nora India, Whirlpool India, Stallion India Fluor, Mercury Trade Links and Sampre Nutrition touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
