Khan is hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently came under a lot of fire for a gaffe. The ‘Jawan’ star was seen calling ‘RRR’ actor Ram Charan ‘idli’ at the pre-wedding function of Reliance heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
The second day of the pre-wedding festivities saw an energetic dance performance by the three Khans — Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir. The trio danced to some of their evergreen chartbusters. The trio also attempted to shake a leg to ‘Naatu Naatu’, the superhit song from ‘RRR’. It was at this point that SRK called Ram Charan to join them.
While calling the ‘Yevadu’ star onstage, Khan uttered a gibberish of Tamil and Telugu words and referred to as ‘idli’. Since this word is considered an offensive term to describe South Indians, Khan is currently facing a lot of chastisement.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Charan’s makeup artist Zeba Hassan called out the Bollywood superstar for this insensitive remark. “I’m a huge SRK fan, but I really disliked the way he called Ram Charan on stage.”Bhend idly vada Ram charan kahan hai tu (Saying names of snacks, Ram Charan where are you)???' I walked out after this. So disrespectful towards a star like @alwaysramcharan,” she wrote.
Khan’s “idli” comment did not go down well with many of his South Indian netizens.
