The NSE Nifty index ended the session 93.65 points up at 19140.9, while BSE Sensex rose 329.85 points to 64112.65.
In the Nifty index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 3.57 per cent), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 2.33 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 2.19 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 2.06 per cent) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.79 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, UPL Ltd.(down 3.58 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.35 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.20 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
