Sheikh Hasina, who resigned as Bangladesh Prime Minister following massive anti-government protests, landed at Hindon Air Base in a C-130 transport aircraft on Monday, as per ANI sources.
The aircraft will be parked near the Indian Air Force’s C-17 and C-130J Super Hercules aircraft hangars. The aircraft movement was monitored by Indian Air Force and security agencies from its entry into Indian airspace to Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad, the sources added.
Hasina resigned on Monday and left the country, reports from Dhaka said.
It is not immediately clear whether the military transport aircraft will take her beyond India or she will travel to London in a different plane.
Hindon Airport is a Civil Enclave in Ghaziabad Distt. of Uttar Pradesh, operated by the Airports Authority of India at Hindan Air Force Station. It is the second commercial airport in the Delhi NCR which is around 24km from New Delhi Railway Station connected by Major Mohit Sharma Rajender Nagar Metro Station of Ghaziabad, after Indira Gandhi International Airport,Delhi. This airport built to handle domestic flights operating under the Government's Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) operated by Airports authority of India .
