Shifty Shellshock, the frontman of the rap rock group Crazy Town, has died due to an accidental overdose. The revelation was made by the band’s manager, Howie Hubberman, shedding light on the tragic end of the musician whose real name was Seth Binzer.
According to Hubberman, Binzer's death was caused by a lethal “combination of prescription drugs and street-purchased drugs.” The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not officially released the cause of death, but a toxicology report is pending, as per a report by the New York Post. The musician passed away at his Los Angeles residence at the age of 49.

Shifty Shellshock had a long history of battling addiction. His struggles became public when he appeared on the first two seasons of “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” During his time on the show, he candidly discussed his battle with cocaine addiction and his subsequent relapse. He later appeared on the follow-up show, “Sober House,” in 2009 and 2010, where he continued to fight his addiction to stimulants.
Crazy Town was formed in 1995 by Binzer and Bret “Epic” Mazur. The band gained significant fame with their 2000 hit single “Butterfly,” which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for two nonconsecutive weeks.
