Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh recently broke his silence on rumours of his wife’s pregnancy. Taking to Facebook on Tuesday, Singh requested fans of the slain singer-rapper not to pay heed to speculations about their family and to wait for an official confirmation from him.
“We are thankful to Sidhu's fans, who are concerned about our family. But we plead there are so many rumours going around about our family, but they are not to be believed. Whatever news is there, the family will share with you all,” he wrote in Punjabi.
For the unversed, rumours about the ‘So High’ hitmaker’s mother Charan Kaur getting pregnant at the age of 58 spread like wildfire on the social media after an anonymous source close to the family told the Tribune that Kaur underwent in-vitro-fertilisation therapy (IVF), and successfully conceived. The speculations grew stronger as Kaur had been absent from the public gaze for more than six months, despite being very active on social media, especially during the farmer protests in Punjab.
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, better known by his alias Sidhu Moosewala, was one of the most iconic artistes from Punjab. Working predominantly in the Punjabi language music and cinema, he soon became one of the most celebrated rapper-singers. He rose to prominence with the track ‘So High’. In 2018, he released his debut album ‘PBX 1’, which peaked at number 66 at the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. Songs such as ‘Mera Na’ and ‘47’ also found a place on the UK Singles Chart.
His
