«I am extremely pleased to announce that a year from now, Škoda Auto will debut an all-new car, a compact SUV for the Indian market. Like the Kushaq and the Slavia, it will be made in India, ready for the world,» he said.
«The new compact SUV will help us compete in the largest segment of the Indian automotive industry,» said Dr Johannes Neft, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development, Škoda Auto.
“When we started planning the India growth strategy, it was clear that we would have to have a product portfolio tailor-made for Indian customers, offering high value and the core Škoda DNA of safety and driving dynamics," Neft added.
Neft, speaking at the event, also noted that the MQB-A0-IN platform used in the Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia will power the Czech auto giant to enter in a 'new era' with the entry of the all-new compact SUV segment.
