New Zealand batter Kane Williamson was set up by Sri Lanka Spinner Prabaht Jayasuriya in the second Test at Galle. The Kiwi batter could only managed seven runs in 53 balls as his team was bowled out cheaply for just 88 runs, trailing by 514 runs in the first innings.
Williamson was dismissed in the 17th over when he tried to steady the ship for the visitors along with night watchman Ajaz Patel. Jayasuriya, however, gave the hosts their first wicket on Day 3.
The left-arm spinner bowled a full length ball from around the wicket. It turned away from batter after pitching around off stump. Williamson tried to block it on the front foot but the ball took the outside edge and Dhananjaya de Silva grabbed a simple catch at first slip.
Jayasuriya, in his seventh over, bowled a few back-of-length deliveries to push the batter on the backfoot before pushing one fuller. His fourth and fifth deliveries were identical in terms of pace and length, as Williamson tucked them off the back foot towards the mid-on and cover, respectively.
