Great fast bowler Dale Steyn backed star batsman Virat Kohli during the controversy surrounding his absence from the Test series against England, saying "family should come first and that should be the end of the story."
«I have three dogs, and if one of them got sick while I was in the IPL, I would hop on the first plane out of there to see my dog,» he continued.
Steyn said, «So if Virat Kohli has decided to sit at home, I don't see any problem with that at all,» in response to Kohli's choice to put his family first. In addition to acknowledging Kohli's accomplishments as a World Cup winner and captain, he lauded Kohli for his services to Indian cricket.
«In my opinion, cricket isn't actually that important in the end. It matters who helped you get there and why you're playing. The people the public doesn't see are the ones behind you or behind the scenes. The most crucial thing, according to Steyn, is to go to your partner, mother, wife, sister, or anyone else who is always there to support you, especially if there's a risk to their health or something else going on.»
Even though Kohli is an icon in India, you are not permitted to analyze his personal life, he further added.
