State Bank of India (SBI) has emerged as India's most profitable company during the April-June quarter of fiscal 2023-24 (Q1FY24), replacing Reliance Industries, according to data from Capitaline Databases. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) stood third , and was followed by HDFC Bank and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
The public sector bank reported a net profit of ₹18,736 crore in the first quarter of FY24. The bank commands a market capitalisation of ₹5,12,451.22 crore.
Reliance Industries reported a net profit of ₹18,258 crore in the first quarter of FY24. The oil-to-telecom conglomerate declared a dividend for the first time since May 2022.
