Rolls-Royce Phantom collided with an oil truck moving on the wrong side. The oil truck overturned and caught flames after the accident, claiming the lives of the driver and his helper.
As per the TOI report, the driver and helper were trapped inside the tanker and couldn't excape when it caught fire.
Meanwhile, a third occupant of the truck's cabin was fortunate enough to be rescued, and is presently undergoing medical treatment.
The luxury Rolls-Royce also caught flames. The four occupants of the car, including a woman, have also suffered significant injuries.
They were rushed to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after the accident.
Investigations into the collision reveal that the oil tanker was moving on the wrong side of the highway before colliding with the Rolls-Royce. The high-speed nature of both vehicles magnified the impact, leading to the oil truck, which was transporting diesel, toppling over and catching fire.
Despite attempts to douse the flames with water tanks, fire reduced Rolls-Royce Phantom to ashes.
While the specific variant of the Rolls-Royce Phantom involved in the accident remains undisclosed, it's worth noting that the Phantom model, in general, is equipped with a 6.7-liter V12 engine.
As is characteristic of luxury vehicles, the Phantom can be extensively customized according to the buyer's preferences. While the exact price of the involved car remains unconfirmed, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is typically valued between Rs 9 crore to Rs 10.5 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
