Surprisingly, their inspiration comes from a beloved Disney movie, "The Parent Trap."
The Marvel multiverse saga, after taking viewers on a web-slinging adventure across the Spider-Verse, concludes with Miles Morales encountering another variant of himself, Earth-42's Miles G. Morales, also known as The Prowler, voiced by Jharrel Jerome. In a tension-filled scene, the two Mileses confront each other, with the original Miles about to escape, and the alternate Miles preparing for a showdown. It seems «Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse» will explore a plot twist involving these two versions of the character swapping places.
Director Joaquim Dos Santos revealed to Empire Magazine that early on, they explored emotional touchstones, considering a «Prince and the Pauper take» for Miles and his Prowler variant. Chris Miller added that this concept formed the core of the original plan for «Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.»
