Stalker 2 is set to release on November 20, 2024. Originally planned for September 5, 2024, developers announced the delay on July 25, 2024. In their statement on X (formerly Twitter), they explained that this additional time would allow them to resolve “unexpected anomalies” or bugs.

Initially, the game was scheduled for release on April 28, 2022. However, it was pushed to December 8, 2022, before being delayed indefinitely due to the Ukraine conflict, where the developer is based. In March 2022, GSC Game World, the Kyiv-based developer, announced that development had paused due to global events. Later, in May 2022, the team confirmed via Discord that work on the game had resumed. A fact sheet released during Gamescom 2023 then confirmed a 2024 launch on PC and Xbox platforms.
Stalker 2 will be available on PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store and on Xbox Series X|S as a Day One Game Pass title. The game will not initially be released on PlayStation 5. There is no indication of a potential release on Sony’s platform in the future.
