Standard Chartered Bank, India has appointed Sanjay Gurjar the Co-Head, Client Coverage — Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking (CCIB) for India and South Asia, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
Gurjar’s remit will cover Local Corporates & Middle Markets in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Nepal. Prior to this assignment, Gurjar was the Managing Director & Head, Banks & Broker Dealers (BBD), ASEAN & Head Financial Institutions (FI), Singapore.
Gurjar has been with Standard Chartered for over 27 years with extensive experience in various roles in Corporate and Institutional Banking, spanning operations, transaction banking product and product sales, credit assessment, relationship management and investment banking.

He has spent most of his career in India and in his last two stints here drove transformational performance in the FI business in India & South Asia and in Transaction Banking for India & Nepal. He has spent the last two and a half years driving a strategic shift and strong growth in the ASEAN BBD business and in building a strong FI team, while based out of Singapore.
