According to Daily Mail, the discussion which eventually began with Sean Hannity discussing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives all of a sudden took a sharp turn when ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith used the opportunity to highlight the lack of experience of former Fox host Pete Hegseth overseeing the military operations.
ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith also challenged Sean Hannity's framing of DEI policies specifically in light of the recent plane crashes that some conservatives attributed to these initiatives, asserted Daily Mail. He also put an emphasis on the fact that the elimination of DEI should not be equated with the idea that minorities associated with these efforts are unqualified.
When Sean Hannity actually attempted to defend former Fox host Pete Hegseth by pointing to his military service and Ivy League education, at the same time, ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith countered that being a weekend host on Fox News does not qualify someone to oversee the Department of Defense which is managing millions of important personnel.
