Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

Pokarna Ltd.(up 6.90%), MOIL Ltd.(up 5.70%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 4.57%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 4.07%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.87%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.26%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 0.25%), NMDC Ltd.(up 0.14%) and Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.10%) stood among the top gainers.

Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 2.36%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.21%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 0.91%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 0.44%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 0.43%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 48.85 points up at 22104.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 111.66 points at 72776.13.
Cipla Ltd.(up 5.61%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 3.9%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 3.14%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.12%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 2.95%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.03%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.39%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.27%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.26%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.23%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
