Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.44%
Shares of MRF Ltd.(up 2.9 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 2.34 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.66 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 1.47 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.4 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.44 per cent up at 17867.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 36.55 points at 20901.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 132.04 points at 69521.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, Tata Power and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nagreeka Export, Aakash Exploration, Windsor Machine, Vertoz Advertising and Sandur Manganese hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while APM Finvest, Raj Rayon, Flair Writing Indust, Winsome Yarns and SEL Manufact hit their fresh 52-week lows.
