Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.04% in an upbeat market
Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 0.8 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.63 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.56 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.38 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.43 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent) and Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.51 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.04 per cent at 17785.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 59.7 points at 20914.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 194.01 points at 69490.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
Shares of Reliance Power, YES Bank, JP Power, TV18 Broadcast and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
