Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls
Adani Power Ltd.(up 5.54%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(up 4.59%) and Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(up 0.36%) stood among the top gainers.
GE Power India Ltd.(down 6.15%), PTC India Ltd.(down 5.76%), NHPC Ltd.(down 5.27%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 5.00%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(down 4.96%), NLC India Ltd.(down 4.92%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(down 4.90%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(down 4.89%), JSW Energy Ltd.(down 4.72%) and Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 4.49%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 345.0 points down at 21957.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1062.22 points at 72404.17.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 3.28%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.8%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.39%), State Bank of India(up 1.12%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.12%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.86%) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.49%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 6.07%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 4.69%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 4.54%), Coal India Ltd.(down 4.52%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 4.19%), ITC Ltd.(down 3.61%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 3.56%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.5%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 3.49%) and Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 3.29%) closed in the red.
