Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 302.95 points down at 21150.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 930.88 points at 70506.31.
Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.44%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.05%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.88%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.24%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 5.75%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 5.35%), UPL Ltd.(down 4.44%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 4.17%), Coal India Ltd.(down 4.03%), NTPC Ltd.(down 3.87%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 3.29%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 3.25%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 3.24%) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 3.15%) closed in the red.
