Nifty closes at 19,497. On NSE sectoral front, media, private banks, and PSU Banks advanced the most. Meanwhile, S&P BSE Smallcap index gained only 219 points to end at 33,224 and the Midcap at 29,222 level with a gain of 227 points.
The Top Gainers of the index include Mahindra & Mahindra, Apollo Hospital, Power grid corporation of India, Tata Motors, and Reliance Industries. CEAT: Shares of CEAT rose sharply to touch their one-year high levels in Thursday's trade. The stock jumped 19.40 per cent to hit a 52-week high of ₹2,498.10 over its previous close of ₹2,092.30.
Turnover on the counter came at ₹31.15 crore, commanding a market capitalisation (m-cap) of ₹9,882.77 crore. The scrip has gained 28.48 per cent in the past one month and 49.45 per cent on a year-to-date (YTD) basis. Today's jump can be related to the new automobile launches in the premium segment, a person, familiar with the development, said.
"Tyre stocks rose today. CEAT got the maximum push as the counter touched its 52-week high. JK Tyre shares also hit one-year high.
Zee Media Corporation: During a meeting held on July 5, 2023, the company's board of directors noted that Zee Media has the option to convert each warrant into one fully paid-up equity share of the company, priced at Rs. 12.20 per share. The total value of the warrants is Rs.
164,70,00,000. However, the payment of 75% of the warrant issue size, which is the warrant exercise price, was supposed to be made by July 5, 2023. As a result the shares of Zee Media soared by nearly 5 per cent to closed the day at ₹191.15 per share today.
