Sunil Gavaskar on Wednesday said that the Indian team has better bowling than that of Pakistan's, while speaking alongside all-time great Pakistani pacers Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis on a YouTube cricket channel.

Akram started a conversation saying that Pakistan are relying on part time bowlers, which worked in the 90s but not in the current era. The Pakistani legend said that teams needed at least five genuine wicket takers today. Gavaskar agreed to the point being made and said that this is where India had a strong advantage as the Rohit Sharma-led side has six genuine wicket takers who can bowl 10 overs.
The former India opener added that Indian allrounders were not only capable of bowling 10 overs each, but also batting at 5, 6 or 7. «Captain has got an option. If a bowler is getting hammered and having a bad day, that guy can bowl just four overs and the sixth bowler can come and bowl. The captain has options. Pakistan's problem is they need a fifth wicket taking bowler. Anyone can come and bowl 10 overs, but they have to be wicket takers,» Gavaskar said.
The former player added that the best dot ball is the wicket dot ball and India have six of them and that is the reason why the Men in Blue are in such a great place. «There is depth in batting, bowling and the fielding is also great,» said Gavaskar.
