Kolkata Knight Riders' opener and full-time spinner, Sunil Narine, scored his maiden century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday against Rajasthan Royals, putting up a complete show at the iconic Eden Gardens.
Narine's 49-ball 100 is also his first in the shortest format of the game.
The West Indies spinner has played 168 IPL matches and has over 1,322 runs with the highest score of 109. His strike rate is an impressive 164.84.
Notably, Narine is also only the third KKR batsman to score a century and has scripted history with Venkatesh Iyer scoring a ton on this very day, last year.
Before losing his wicket to Trent Boult, Narine smashed 13 fours and 6 sixes, receiving massive applauds and appreciation from the crowd.
Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson had won the toss and chose to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League match. Jos Buttler and Ravichandran Ashwin are back in action, with Ashwin playing and Buttler as an impact sub. The Knight Riders have announced an unchanged lineup.
