Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,' returned home on Friday after being missing since April 22, police said.
The Delhi Police had filed a kidnapping case and were investigating his disappearance.
Singh told the police he had embarked on a religious journey, leaving his worldly life behind.
During his absence, he visited Gurudwaras in several cities like Amritsar and Ludhiana. Eventually, he decided to return home, the police stated.
On April 22, Singh was supposed to fly to Mumbai from Delhi but did not board the flight and went missing. His phone was active until April 24, showing multiple transactions, as per the police investigation. CCTV footage from the day he vanished showed him walking with a bag on his back.
His father, Hargit Singh, filed a missing complaint on April 26, leading to an FIR under Section 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The investigation revealed that Singh was in financial trouble with several loans and dues. It was also found that he was a follower of a meditation sect and had expressed interest in going to the Himalayas for meditation.
