‘Taarak Mehta’ star Gurucharan Singh is back home, reveals why he went off the radar
TV actor Gurucharan Singh, who went missing in April 22, returned home on Friday. The ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ star, who created quite a stir, by going completely off the radar for a month, was finally traced by Delhi Police, and upon interrogation, he revealed that he had renounced worldly life and was went on a spiritual journey.
AnIndia Today report revealed that he had visited Gurudwaras in several cities such as Amritsar and Ludhiana, but later decided to return home.

The police also found that Singh was a member of a meditation sect which was planning to travel to the Himalayas.
The actor was supposed to travel from Delhi to Mumbai, however, he did not board the flight and was declared missing after it was found that he did not reach his destination, nor returned home. Until April 24, his phone number remained active, facilitating multiple transactions, as uncovered in a police inquiry. Surveillance footage from the day of his disappearance depicted the actor strolling with a bag slung over his shoulder.

His father, Harjit Singh filed a kidnapping case with the Delhi police on April 26. There were several reports of the actor being in dire financial straits and that he possessed over 27 emails. The actor was also afraid of being under surveillance, which led him to change emails
