Burglars who steal valuables can sometimes develop remorse and even return them!
A group of burglars who ransacked Tamil director Manikandan’s house has returned an amount of the loot and even apologised for the nuisance they created!
The burglars broke into Manikandan’s house in Usilampatti and stole cash, gold jewellery, as well as medals. However, later, the burglars seemed to have had a change of heart!
On Monday, the thieves returned two National Awards and left a note of apology at the gate of the house. The note, which was written in Tamil, read: “Sir, please forgive us. Your hard work is yours..”
As per a report by Deccan Herald, Rs 1 lakh (in cash) and innumerable gold jewellery were looted. These were not returned. The Usilampatti police are currently investigating the matter and trying to identify the culprits. In an interview with The Hindu, the police officer in charge revealed, ““The valuables are yet to be recovered. But it has come to our notice that the awards have been returned.”
The director was in Chennai when the incident happened. The note was discovered by some friends who had gone to his Madurai home to feed his puppy.
