The origin of Teddy Day dates back to 1902 when then-US President Theodore «Teddy» Roosevelt showed compassion by refusing to shoot a tied-up bear during a hunting trip. Clifford Berryman. inspired by this event, created a political cartoon, which led Morris Michtom to design the first-ever teddy bear toy.
This soft and adorable toy soon became a global symbol of warmth, love, and affection, eventually giving birth to Teddy Day as part of Valentine’s Week celebrations.
