Teyana Taylor breaks silence after leaked divorce documents, here's what she said
Teyana Taylor while breaking her silence said that the statements circulating in the media about her divorce were not hers but an extract from a leaked court document.
On her Instagram, the singer posted, «I mind my business, don't bother nobody & y'all know I've never played about my children, family & our privacy. I have not spoken on this private matter to any media outlets or blogs etc.
So everyone claiming „Teyana said,“ didn't get any statements directly from ME».
«These statements were taken from private court documents that were leaked to the public. It is very heartbreaking that someone would take out the line to make such a private matter public for the world to see,» she added.
In the post, she also requested all to allow herself and her family some privacy to resolve the matter in peace.
The purported claims were based on leaked court documents, which Taylor attempted to hide by using her and Shumpert's initials.
But on Wednesday afternoon, November 22, the latter filed a move to use both of their full, legal names in the divorce petition; as a result, the document is now known to the public.
According to Taylor's lawyer, the divorce was kept secret for eleven months before Shumpert’s motion.
Meanwhile, Shumpert's attorney in a statement said that «Mr Shumpert hoped that parties and counsel can work towards a fair resolution keeping the best interests of the children of paramount concern.”
In the petition, Shumpert is accused of extreme emotional and mental abuse towards the 32-year-old singer.
The couple have been married for seven years and have two daughters — Junie and Rue. Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert's relationship took an unexpected turn when in September Taylor confirmed their separation.
