The Exorcist: Believer is produced by Blumhouse Productions and directed by David Gordon Green. The movie is a reboot of the popular series with a planned trilogy in the works.
The movie revolves around Victor Fielding played by Leslie Odom Jr., a photographer, who tries to find answers about his daughter and her friend who go missing but return possessed by evil spirits. In his quest, Fielding seeks the help of Chris MacNeil played by Ellen Burstyn who had encountered the same 50 years ago.
Others in the star cast include Lidya Jewett, Olivia O’Neill, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz, Ann Dowd and others.
The Exorcist: Believer shot to the top spot during its weekend opening and collected a moderate $107.5 million worldwide at the box office.
